| Frank Padziewski 1908 - 2012 |
|
We were sad to learn of the passing of our longtime friend and benefactor, Frank Padzieski at 103 years old. Frank and his late wife, Mary, were generous patrons of the Dearborn Symphony. Because of their deep concern for the Dearborn Symphony Orchestra and its continued success, Frank and Mary were instrumental in establishing the Dearborn Orchestral Society Endowment Fund in 1992. Because of their strong belief in the value of instrumental music education, they designated a portion of the earnings from their donation to music scholarships. Their legacy for on-going funding of the Dearborn Symphony ensures that it will remain creative and strong and promises that developing musicians will continue to find support for their instrumental music education. Because he had a controlling interest in Village Plaza, Frank generously provided office space there to the Dearborn Symphony, where it remained for about 20 years. Frank served on the Endowment Fund from its inception, and was Board Member, Emeritus, at the time of his death. We have lost a wonderful patron, wise mentor, and friend with his passing. A memorial mass will be celebrated on Friday, Jan. 27th at St. Barbara's Church, 10:30 AM. |
